Habby Hour!

Welcome back contestants!  I mean...  Listeners!  As mentioned on Twitter, we were going to do something a bit different with this episode, and given the recent Jeopardy! craze, we decided to make a Jeopardy! themed episode!  Beth, Dave, and Veronica show their Habs trivia mettle with Ashley supervising the madness.  Who will win?  Listen to find out!  We also had some time to talk about a new signing for the Habs, the sparkling new spooky trade rumor floating around, and even had time for our player of the week...  Matthew Peca!  June 14, 2019.

Hey!  Screw you, Pierre!  But, no, seriously, we love you.  Anyway, in this episode of the Habby Hour we explore all of the contracts that were signed in the last week!  There was action both at the NHL level and at the AHL level, while the a certain newly minted Memorial Cup champion and tournament MVP just happens to be a Hab!  We cap it all off with us gushing over our 2018-2019 points leader...  Max!  Domi!  May 30, 2019.

So, what happened this week??  Not a whole lot when it comes to the Habs!  We touch on the IIHF, the amazing Memorial Cup run for the Guelph Storm, and Sesame Street!  We also cast a bit of a hopeful, yet, skeptical eye upon the new standard game time that the Habs are promising their fans and then the possibility of trading for a player like Phil Kessel!  We conclude the episode with our next player of the week...  Carey Price.  May 23, 2019.

We here at the Habby Hour always endeavor to give you Habs news as it comes, and to give you our thoughts on this news!  However, when there's a lack of news, episodes like these happen!  Despite this, we do gather some thoughts in regards to Peter Budaj's retirement, Michel Therrien's hiring by the Flyers, Boston's success in the playoffs, the woes of Slovakia in the IIHF, Team Canada's surprising power play prowess, and we cap this all with a blurb about Brendan Gallagher!  And there's a ton else in this one that isn't quite about hockey.  May 16th, 2019.

How about that Nick Suzuki, huh??  We get as much info as we can about the Habs in this past week together for you and the Guelph Storm are a big part of it!  Tomas Tatar continues his campaign overseas in the IIHF tournament.  We get into some of the more salacious discussions on Twitter this week dealing with the players that do and do not go to play in the tournament, and we also address those rumors of a possible PK return to Montreal.  Aside from that we also have a new Hab!  And we top it off with giving some time to talk about L'Artiste, Artturi Lehkonen!

So how much stuff can we cram into an hour?  Well, listen and find out!  We found out about an minor injury to Jonathon Drouin, another Hab was signed, the coverage of the Leaves was justified (sorta), the women of hockey take a stand, Max Domi is getting lessons, the kids are doing good in the junior leagues, Dale Weise adds a couple and Price got himself a tattoo!  We also highlight the exploits of Victor Mete in this episode!  May 4th, 2019.

The playoffs, and the off season, continue!  A good, decent portion of this episode is dedicated to the Toronto Maple Leafs losing in the first round, again, to the Boston Bruins!  We here at the Habby Hour have a 'bit' of a bias against the Leafs, but it may not be for the reason you think!  Or, at least, not the only reason why you think!  After we revel in their misery, we move on to the Habs!  Who had surgery, who was signed, who do the Habs want to keep, and who is representing their country at Worlds?  Find that out, and our thoughts on Jonathan Drouin on this episode!  (April 25th, 2019)

How is everyone's brackets looking??  Dave can tell you that his is absolutely...  BAD.  We talk only a little bit about the craziness of the first round of the playoffs, and then we get right back into the swing of things with the Habs!  We had a signing the day that we recorded!  We also talk about Nick Suzuki's OHL playoffs, Max Domi's trophy nomination, the Rocket's end of season, but most importantly?  We talk about Tomas...  TATAR!  Have a listen!  April 18th, 2019.

The first week of the off season has started, with all of us watching the playoffs and looking at what may come in the future with the Habs!  Tonight we were without Veronica, so David and Beth go over some of the latest Habs and hockey news!  The Habs' postmortem was front and center, but a major topic was the folding of the CWHL, and the aftermath of what's going on for women's hockey.  We also highlighted some of what was said about Drouin, some unlikely statistics with the power play, and we wrapped up with a tip of the hat to Phillip Danault!  April 13th, 2019.

This was it, the last game of the season against the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have been nothing but trouble for us for the past two years!  However, tonight they had to deal with our 1st Round pick from the 2017 draft...  Ryan Poehling.  And he made QUITE the night for himself!  This was also the last game that Bob Cole would be calling, and what a fitting end to a legendary career!  We talk about the game, the off season, and what a bright future our boys have with the bleu, blanc, rouge!  There is also a fair amount of singing in this one...  (April 6th, 2019)

The playoff race is still on despite what many may think!  The Habby Hour crew go over the most recent game against Columbus and where the Habs are in the standings.  We also go over some of the recent news that we haven't been able to talk about yet in regards to Shaw, Price, and Tatar.  We also take a big chunk of the episode dedicated to Dave's experiences at the Fantasy Camp!  He goes over each day of the amazing camp with us!  This is our longest episode so far!  Listen!  March 28th, 2019.

Hi!  It's another Dave and Veronica episode and they talk about the recent woes with the Habs!  It seems as if the Habs have not been playing to their strengths the past 2 or 3 weeks, and we talk about why that may be!  Also, what's the playoff picture look like for the Habs?  Is there a chance to make it in still?  What else does Shaw have to do to motivate the team.  And David is doing WHAT this weekend???  Have a listen and find out about all of this and more!  March 19th, 2019.

It's our birthday!  Sorta.  On March 10th, 2018 we recorded the first episode of the Habby Hour which came at the tail end of one of the most disastrous seasons in the history of the Montreal Canadiens.  Now?  Things are looking up!  In order to further commemorate the occasion, Ashley (and Angus) were able to join us!  With the original crew back together we spent most of the episode reminiscing on the past year, where the Habs were, where they are now, and a bit of the recent news.  Of course, the western road trip has been concluded, and it did not yield the results that many were hoping for.  And it is these things, and more, that we talk about in this episode!  March 11th, 2019.

This is our 50th episode!  The 'dreaded' western road trip has started after games in New York and Pittsburgh!  The Habs took on the Kings in LA, and it marked the first game where Kotkaniemi was a scratch.  This meant that we were able to get a glimpse of Jordan Weal, and what he brought to the game against LA.  To say the least, it was quite a game!  Veronica and Dave host the episode since Beth was unfortunately held up.  However, we were lucky to be joined by none other then TSN690's own Dan Robertson!  He shared his times and experiences as a broadcaster, and his thoughts on the Habs with us!  March 6th, 2019.

Pretty quick turnaround for episodes!  In this one we only have Dave and Veronica talking about two games that come on a back to back!  The Devils, and (oh boy) the Red Wings!  We also address some concerns with Shea Weber, and what may be causing the slip in game.  Aside from that we finally got a look at the new guy, Folin, on the blue line and a few other things!  February 26th, 2019.

There will be episodes like this!  The crew cope with the recent game against the Leafs, and also go over the previous 4 games before hand.  It has been said before!  Despite everything, the Habs are in a much better position than they were expected to be, and that's enough to keep us excited!  February 23rd, 2019

How much fun do we have?  So much fun!  With only one game to talk about in this episode we went far and wide in our Habs topics, most notably the philanthropic efforts that the Habs and all athletes strive to do and what it means to the game, and most importantly, the fans.  Veronica and Beth take the reigns in talking about the game in this chuckle worthy episode!  February 15th, 2019.

We want to thank everyone that was able to make it to the meetup before the game on Saturday against the Leaves!  It definitely made the weekend all the more memorable!  Dave and Beth were in Montreal and Laval for the Rocket game on Friday and then the Habs game on Saturday, and do we have stories to tell!  Also, we catch up on the rest of the week's news, especially one VERY important trade!  February 10th, 2019.

After what seemed like an ETERNITY...  The Habs are, really, back!  We recap the game against the Devils while talking about some of the stuff that went on over the break.  Which, honestly, wasn't a whole lot aside from some contract juggling on the management side.  As is custom though, Dave has a rant about the refs, Beth sings, and Veronica looooves Shea Weber!  All that and more!  February 2nd, 2019.
