Habby Hour!

The worst kept secret in Habs hockey is now out in the open, Nick Suzuki has been named Captain! This coming during the mythical Habs Golf Day which has a history of naming the leadership group among the players. Also, there is big news regarding Price, and a couple of contracts, and much more! Like those atrocious ads, BLEGH.

Uh oh! Some technical problems on Dave's end meant that people will be able to see more of his recording space! After fretting about that, the whole crew go over the latest Habs news, where the most exciting thing was seeing Slafkovsky in a full Habs kit on the ice at the rookie showcase! Also, Therrien and Bouchard working the same job??

A lot of golf happened this week. Veronica weighs in on the Monahan trade, and on the women's hockey side of things Montreal has a team! The Montreal Force!

Did anyone get the power point on the Monahan trade? Cause we're still looking into it! Also, some unwelcome news came this past week in regards to Price's health that has once again cast doubt on his return this season.

Another week with sparse news. Aside from some highlights at the World Juniors and, of course, Carey Price's birthday!

The World Juniors have begun! However, when it comes to Habs news it was not close to the biggest piece of news in the past week. Marc Dumont was fired from the Habs, which came as a surprise to the crew! This is discussed, as well as a bit about Mysak, Slafkovsky, and more on this week's episode!

Welcome back and listen to another episode of Dave horribly mispronouncing names! Aside from that, Veronica is back! Even though now it's Beth turn to have a night off. As for Habs news, there's a new assistant coach, some good stories surrounding Slafkovsky, and we finally meet Dadonov! Who had a media day for the ages!

In a nutshell, Slaf isn't going to the World Juniors. There are some new Habs numbers. PLD agreed to an offer. And, Byron helped save a guy. Some slim pickings for Habs news this past week, but listen in as Dave and Beth break things down! Veronica is still recovering from the loss of Petry, and we wish her well!

The Free Agency Frenzy has officially started! The Habs are having cap troubles, but despite this have signed a number of depth players as well as kept one of the surprises from last season! The biggest news of the past week may be the trade of Jeff Petry and Ryan Poehling to Pittsburgh for Michael Matheson. Given the news, it's obvious that Veronica was not able to record tonight. The draft in Montreal is over and done with and boy do WE HAVE AN EPISODE FOR YOU! Please join the crew as they break down the past weekend in Montreal! It happened again. A former Montreal Canadien scores the Stanley Cup game winning goal. Years ago it was Lars Eller for the Capitals. Now? It's Artturi Lehkonen for the Avalanche! The crew takes time to congratulate and talk about Artturi, and also his father Ismo! As for the Habs, we say goodbye to Luke Richardson and Sean Burke, and then get to a little bit of draft talk. Then, the episode is capped off with some thoughts on the United States Supreme Court and the January 6th Committee! Something for everyone!

For those that have been listening to the Habby Hour since the beginning, you know how much Shea Weber means to us! So, it goes without saying that there were some choice words used to describe some folks' reaction to the trade, and what his presence meant to the Montreal Canadiens.

Okay, we're actually back since Dave didn't mess up the recording! So, Dave and Beth go over the events from the past 2 weeks, and there was actually some major news! MSL will be the Habs head coach until 2025, Chris Wideman got himself a new contract, and a surprise move from the Habs brought Captain Clutch herself, Marie-Philip Poulin, into the organization as a player development coach! All that and more in this week's episode!

Another shorter episode for tonight! The news is slow coming, but one major announcement was that Martin St. Louis will be behind the Habs bench for the next three season! Until 2025. This was met with acclaim by most fans, and there seems to be plenty of reason for it! Also, Hughes had a presser yesterday and gave an update on Carey Price, and the NHL Combine is on! The crew discuss all of this, and Kate Bush, in tonight's Habby (almost) Hour!

The crew are back after another week off because of DAVE. But, uh, unfortunately there isn't a whole lot to talk about! Anderson and Armia continue to do well at the IIHF worlds, and the Rocket COULD advance to the semi-finals in the AHL playoffs! It's a short one tonight, hope you enjoy!

We're back! And the season is over for the Habs! A surprise dominate win against the Panthers concluded what was one of the worst seasons since... When, World War II? Or something like that?? There is plenty to talk about! Awards, medical updates, and a little of what the off season might look like. But, most importantly? The Habs have secured the first overall pick for the draft IN Montreal! How about that!

This week has been one of the most difficult of all for Habs fans, hockey, and sports in general. The passing of Guy Lafleur was felt by so many, on so many different levels. The crew (including Beth!) reflect on Guy's impact on the Habs, share some stories of him, and remember the great for what he was. And then a hard turn is taken to talk about how Musky Twitter has become lately before turning right back to Habs news! It's the last week of the regular season! FINALLY.

The Habby Hour is back! Unfortunately, there is literally only one victory to talk about in the past TWO weeks. It seems that old habits are creeping into the Habs style of play. Is that an indictment on Martin St. Louis? Has the shine finally wore off on his ability as a coach? Or, is this all just part of the process in a season that has been lost since November? The crew talk about this, and also about the return of the face of the franchise, Carey Price. The end of the season is coming fast!

This past week of Habs hockey has been rather lackluster despite an OT win against Tampa over the weekend. Tonight was underscorred by a loss against the Senators as familiar issues plague the team that Dave makes sure everyone knows about. Special teams! Despite this, Caufield and Suzuki continue to shine while a number of players were given contracts! The Hughes era continues.
