Habby Hour!

It's been two weeks since our last episode and, uh-- The Habs haven't been doing that great! Despite a convincing win tonight against the Red Wings the Habs are currently mingling near the bottom of the league standings with a 3-8 record to start the season. Caufield has been sent to Laval, Pezzetta was called up as reinforcements, Perreault is injured, Edmundson is injured, but a sliver of hope came with a small announcement regarding Carey price and his possible return... Sooner rather than later? All of this to say that we also took time to talk about Kyle Beach and his courage in coming forward to name himself as the John Doe in the lawsuit against the Blackhawks and their handling of his sexual assault allegations.

Hockey is back! But, someone has to tell the Habs that. With their worst start to a season since 1995 the Habs are already on the ropes and questions abound! What is going on with the power play? (AGAIN) The penalty kill? Why can't the team score? However, there are many good things as well, like Drouin scoring 2 goals so far! Full crowds at the Bell Centre! The adventures of Dave! What's wrong with the United States! BETH IS BACK. And so much more!

This is the last episode before the start of the regular season! After an interesting waiver grab and a couple of cuts the roster was finalized! Dave and Veronica talk a bit about the final two preseason games and the cuts leading up to today. Also, and most importantly, Carey Price going into the NHLPA/NHL Player Assistance Program. We are not sure of the specific reasons why, but can do nothing but support Carey while he seeks help.

The preseason is drawing to a close! The last two games are slated for this week, which means that the regular season (a REAL regular season) will be starting next week! Dave and Veronica go over the news from the previous week, who is cut, who got contracts, and also got a bit into the Lehner tweet storm. And, frankly, a whole lot more was covered as well!

The preseason is well underway! Though, the Habby Hour crew (including Beth!) took some time to acknowledge the indigenous lands that each of the hosts are speaking from. This is to commemorate Orange Shirt Day that is coming up on September 30! From there, David spoke about Isaac Asimov being a terrible human being, the podcast free wheeled on some different topics before finally landing on the Habs! Both preseason games were discussed, as well as the injuries to Caufield, Hoffman, and an update on Price and Gallagher. Though, a good chunk is spent on some of the news coming out from the Leaves' docuseries which is, well. Delicious.

The title is a bit misleading since  Dave and Veronica get into a bit more than just that! Jonathan Drouin spoke about his hiatus from the team with Chantal Desjardins and Renaud Lavoie, the Habs announced their Respect and Consent Action Plan, the rookies faced off twice against the Baby Sens, there's a PTO coming to the main training camp on Wednesday, and more! (Including some Emmy Talk and other streaming goodies).

Well, well, well, well, WELL... The gang is back and (mostly) everything that happened in the off season is condensed into one hour of catching up! For those that were waiting for our return, we're sorry that it took so long! We have contracts, training camps, trades, whatever went on the past two'ish months is in here, including that thing with North Carolina. We're back!

The gang have decided to go on a bit of a hiatus! Beth, Dave, and Veronica still feel strongly about the Habs' decision to draft Logan Mailloux, and feeling psyched about the team has been difficult. As such, they do spend time talking about the further aftermath from the draft, and some of the offseason moves that the Habs have done so fun. When will the Habby Hour be back? Not sure!

It is a new season of the Habby Hour, and unfortunately it has to come at a time where the organization is being scrutinized, and rightly so, for their pick at the draft. Logan Mailloux, a player convicted of a sex crime in Sweden last year, is now a part of the Montreal Canadiens. David and Veronica share their thoughts on the matter.

A whole lot of news dropped last week, from the benign, to the CRAZY. Seattle's Expansion Draft has become a hotspot for Habs fans as it has been revealed that both Shea Weber and Carey Price have been left unprotected. Beth and Dave talk about all of the ins and outs of what this means, and also some other news! Remember that Ducharme and Richardson were given extensions! That seems like so long ago. Also, a big congratulations to Luke Prokop, who is the first player on contract to an NHL team to come out as gay! Hockey is for everyone.

Back to weekly episodes! Unfortunately Beth couldn't be here to enjoy it with us, but Dave and Veronica do what they can to get everyone caught up on what's going on with the Habs. The tale of the tape? Their reactions to the post mortem media availability of the players as well as the futures of Marc Bergevin, Dominic Ducharme, and the Laval Rocket.

After mounting a come back for the ages against the Maple Leafs, sweeping the Jets who had swept the Oilers, battling to victory against the Golden Knights, the Habs are not able to keep up the fight against the Bolts. With a 0-1 loss in Tampa the Habs are eliminated from Stanley Cup contention. What's next? The crew reminisce on the playoffs and talk about what could be coming next for the team. If anything, the future is bright!

Down... But not out! The Habs live! A 2 goal game by our Powerhorse forces a game 5 back in Tampa! Do you believe?

Well, well, well. If you were looking for adversity, here it is! The first Stanley Cup Finals game at the Bell Centre saw a route of the Canadiens as they drop a 3-6 decision against the Bolts. The Habs are on the brink, with the risk of elimination on Monday.

A better effort didn't give the result that the Habs were looking for in game 2. Now, the boys have a hole to climb out of as the series heads back to Montreal. They trail 0-2 in the series.

Finally, the time has come, the Habs are in the Stanley Cups Finals. The series started in Tampa with the Habs doing a well enough job after two periods to trail 1-2. But, the 3rd period unraveled and the Habs were dealt a loss. No one said it would be easy! We're still in it!

THEY DID IT! THEY DID IT! THE HABS DEFEAT THE KNIGHTS AND WILL BE IN THE STANLEY CUP FINALS!!

What a GAME! The Habs return to the desert and will be returning to Montreal after putting up a statement win! With a 3-2 series lead, the Habs now have the chance to to put the Knights down and return to the Stanley Cup finals!

With the return of Dave the podcast can get to recording again! The gang recount tonight's OT loss, and also talk about games 2 and 3, and holy crap, the officiating. With the series now tied 2-2, the boys are going to have to find another gear on the road in Vegas if they want to keep their hopes for the cup alive. We're not worried! And we'll tell you why! Oh, and Beth and Dave talk about their time in Vegas.

The Habs have crossed the border and into enemy territory! Vegas played host to our boys and dealt them their first loss, ending the winning streak at 7. A big game 2 is coming up on Wednesday! Thankfully, the Habs will have Dave and Beth in the stands to cheer them on!
