Habby Hour!

The sweep is COMPLETE! The Habs are the best team in Canada and are going to the 3rd round of the playoffs! Their opponent will be one of either Vegas or Colorado, and we should know by this weekend!

The streak continues as the Habs, AGAIN, roll over the Jets in a 5-1 win! A dominant showing puts the Jets on the brink. Game 4 is tomorrow in Montreal!

The Habs continue their winning ways as they bag their 5th in a row! In a 1-0 decision (and a Carey Price shutout!) the Habs take a 2-0 series lead back to Montreal!

What was a triumphant opening game against the Jets was mired in the final minute with a blatantly dangerous hit by Mark Scheifele on Jake Evans. The crew talk about the Habs win, the awful discovery of the mass grave of children at Kamloops, and Pride Month.

It has happened. The Habs complete the comeback and defeat the Toronto Maple Leaves in Toronto. The Habs have advanced to the second round of the playoffs!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!! The Habs win it in overtime at home to force a game 7 in Toronto!

The series went back to Toronto and it looked like the Habs got the memo... They force a game 6 with a 4-3 overtime win! And, significantly, the series heads back to Montreal where there will FINALLY be fans in the stands! 2,500 strong!

And now the Habs are on the brink. A shutout loss to the Leafs leaves many Habs faithful wondering... Why? The Habby Hour breakdown what was, at best, a middling effort from a team that needs to be anything but.

The series continues in Montreal! Unfortunately the Habs drop the game, and the Leafs take a 2-1 series lead. This episode is a mixture of some post game thoughts, but mostly concerns the endearing support that Leafs fans have for the Habby Hour! Dave takes time to thank them all for their good sportsmanship while Beth and Veronica talk the game in tonight's episode.

And we're right back to square one! The Habs are sunk in game 2 of the series with a drubbing 5-1 result. However, that was not without the same sort of strong play in the first period. So, what went wrong? Well, some might say that discipline was an issue! That is not what us at the Habby Hour would say.

Playoffs baby! Ducharme elected to go with a vet presence in the lineup for the start of the series against the Leafs, a historic Original 6 opponent that the Habs haven't seen in the playoffs in 42 years! It was a low scoring game, but a couple of skilled goals from Anderson and Byron secured the win. Habs take the first game of the series!

This is it! The last episode before the playoffs! The Habs will be facing off against the Leafs for the first time in decades in the post season and Veronica and Dave talk what's what going into the series! For starters, Ducharme has been fielding lines at practice that do not quite meet the expectations of the Habs faithful, but is it all that bad? Also, Gallagher and Price were sent to play a game with the Laval Rocket on a conditioning stint, could you IMAGINE being a baby Hab and walking into a locker room with those guys??This, and more, on this episode of the Habby Hour!

Through thick and thin, through injuries and a historically crazy schedule, the Habs have done it. They will be contenders for the Stanley Cup this season! Unfortunately, it came due to an overtime loss against the Oilers that was backstopped by a trail of three losses against the Senators and Maple Leafs. To break down the final week of regular season play we had Dan Robertson on! He gave us insight on the team's performance, some interesting scoops on players, and some stories in and around hockey that only Dan would know. Always a treat having him on! And of course, we speculated on either series against the Oilers or the Leafs. At the time of recording it was not definite that the Jets would clinch 3rd in the division, but now we know. Habs. Leafs. First round.

Did you know that Cole Caufield is a MONTREAL CANADIEN. And, did you know, that the Habs are STREAKING AT THE MOMENT? With a few successive wins over the past week the Habs are now tied with the Winnipeg Jets for 3rd in the division, and the race to the playoffs is ON. Unfortunately, that wasn't all of the news this week. We have Simon Tsalikis on tonight to chat with us about the Habs' recent success, Drouin's leave of absence, and the surprise statement by the New York Rangers on Tom Wilson's conduct. Some good stuff AGAIN in this episode!

That series against the Flames is OVER. Finally! The Habs went 1-2 against Calgary, giving them some support for the final games of the season. They're currently in a playoff spot! And, according to the math, it's looking very good for the Habs in making it to the post season. However, that all hinges on whether they can get another handful of wins in their final nine games. To talk what's going on with the team, the crew finally had Beth back, and Sean Campbell as a guest!

The dog days of the season are upon us! As of tonight the Habs have the worst record in the North division in the past 10 games, and the team looks listless and uninspired. What is going on! Dave vents frustrations, Veronica makes astute points, and the duo try to suss out what could be eating the Habs. That is the first half of the episode. The second half talks a bit about the Derek Chauvin trial, a bit about vaccines, some politics, then RIGHT back into the Habs! There's all sorts going on it seems!

What. A. Week. A test for the Habs faithful as a skid after the OT heroics from Eric Staal left many wondering just what 'kind' of TEAM are the Habs! Add some flavorful waiver drama, trade deadline acquisitions, and then an upbeat game against a vapid rival, it is no small wonder that there was plenty to talk about! Veronica and Dave talk the issues on this week's episode of the Habby Hour!

Clever episode name, GET IT? The Habs managed a decent week of play from last episode to tonight, going 3-1 in that stretch and showing what the team MIGHT be, even though the one loss also showed what the team MIGHT be. Dave worries about that aspect of the Habs, while Veronica says that you win some and lose some, who's right?? Aside from the games played, the Habs faithful had their first look at Eric Staal, who had a historic debut game for the team! Also, updates on Gallagher and Price, what to do in either situation if either player is out long term, a bit about the Rocket, and then some TV shows, AND more!

What are you supposed to talk about what all of the games for the past week were postponed? Well, a whole lot, apparently! There was no shortage of Habs news despite there being no practices or games since their games were postponed last week. For starters, a number of Habs prospects competed in the NCAA tournament this weekend, with ONE name in particular getting bounced out in his first game... Thereby paving his way to his first pro contract... Wonder who that was! Also, a trade! In exchange for two draft picks the Habs have rescued Eric Staal from a fate worse than death! Playing another minute of Sabres hockey. Once his quarantine is over you can expect him to have a regular spot on the roster. But, how?? What about the cap?? And how good are the Rocket this year?? We talk about all this and more!

If it's not one thing, it's ANOTHER, right? Last night we learned that that a couple of the Habs players were on the COVID-19 list, and the game was postponed until, perhaps, tonight. Unfortunately, in the early hours of the evening we all learned that the next three games were also postponed. So, no Habs hockey this week!
