Habby Hour!

There is a WHOLE lot going on lately as we reach the halfway point of the season, but this week we decided to focus on the Montreal Forum. The 25th anniversary came and passed and we wanted to make up for not marking the occasion. So, we had Dave Kaufman join us to share his stories about his childhood memories at the Forum! There is a difference between today's hockey and the hockey of the near yesteryear that Dave highlights with his wonderful stories and we were very happy that he shared them with us.

In what may be the longest Habby Hour episode to date (pending investigation) the Habby Hour have Eric Engels on to talk about all SORTS of stuff! Most notably, a deep dive into the relationship between the media and the team, and the difficulties that are caused with having to cover the team during COVID. Looking into his Canadiens Mailbag, there's talk of some line changes, the overall changes in the Habs' play, and also a bit on the officiating this season. This one is chock full of great info!

The end of an era, the beginning of a new. The past week has been a tumult for the Habs as frustrations grew, and the results did not get any better. Claude Julien and Kirk Muller were relieved of their duties and replaced by Dominic Ducharme and Alex Burrows. This coming as the month of February comes to a close. Beth, Dave, and Veronica dive into what led the team here, who needs to step up, and what we can all expect for the rest of the season. Everything is so NEW, listen along! March 1, 2021.

Another week is in the books the crew take on the latest Habs news! Adversity came once again as the top ranked Habs squared off against the bottom ranked Sens and don't'cha know what happened next?? Only the obvious! The Habs split the series against the Senators and some questions start to rear their heads about what's going on with the team. What can be done about face offs? Shea Weber. Man Mountain. Captain of the Montreal Canadians, and respected throughout the league. Tonight's match against the Canucks marked the 1,000th game of his NHL career, and the Habs LIVED UP TO THIS MOMENT. The Habs continue to fire on all cylinders as a repeat thumping was aided once again by the Canuck Killer, Tyler Toffoli. However, there was so much more to the past week as well! Namely, the first regulation loss against the Flames, and yet another instance where subpar officiating led to an unwarranted hit to the head of none other than our Sweet Baby Eagle. The Habs keep on rolling on! This episode comes on the heels of the first road trip for the Habs leading into a well deserved rest and then the home opener on Thursday. What is there to say? The team is firing on all cylinders with every player contributing in some way to the team's success. We finally got to see Corey Perry on the ice, and Tyler Toffoli broke into the goal column in a BIG way in Vancouver! All of this culminated into resounding success for the Habs despite every effort made by the on ice officials to stymy them, as penalties GALORE were tossed to and fro. Sorry for the late episode! With the late Habs game running into our usual recording time we had to improvise for this week. Unfortunately, that meant Beth could not join us, however we found the next best thing in Simon Tsalikis! We talk with him about, well, THE HABS!! What a start to the season! After three games the Habs remain undefeated (in regulation) and seem to be a completely different team from last year. Real hockey is imminent! The Habs training camp started yesterday and we're all about talking about what's coming out of Brossard! We go over the news, the lines, the surprises, and speculate a bit on the upcoming season. We also spend some time talking about the World Juniors! It is the last episode of the year, good BYE 2020! So, everyone knows that the Habs made some acquisitions during this offseason, with one copming in just today in none other than COREY. PERRY. Love him, or hate him, he is now a Hab! But, before that, Bergevin also acquired Jake Allen and Joel Edmundson, both of which won a cup with St. Louis. It is for that reason that we were happy to have a Blues fan call in, Guy Bensing! Guy heads the St. Louis Fan Report website (stlfanreport.com) and talked to us about everything from the former Blues players, the World Juniors, the new divisions, and more! December 28, 2020.

Some good news! The NHL and the NHLPA have agreed to a 2020-2021 season! Or, perhaps it would just be a 2021 season? Either way, hockey is happening next month and the Habby Hour cover all the basics that have been released so far. Also! We will have hockey this week as the World Junior Championship will be starting on Christmas Day this Friday! If that wasn't enough, the gang also talk about some shows, and Beth's vaccination!
