What is creating distance between you and Jesus? We look at Peter's story to see that while initially he struggled with pride, laziness and being a coward, but later he commanded humility, embraced diligence, and preached confidently. How does this change happen? Jesus forgives unfaithfulness and by His help we have the means to walk closely with him.

Has the gospel truly transformed your life? What does that really look like? Nik interviews two leaders from Inner City Impact who share their stories about how God completely changed their life. We then turn to scripture to see what the Bible says about true gospel transformation and how it should change who we are, what we believe, how we live, and what we pursue.

So often God's Love is seen as something that just makes us feel good. A true Biblical understanding of God's Love however, should drive us to have remorse for our sin, turn to God in repentance and only then rejoice in our great God of Love.

In the process of Following Christ we're called to trust Him and not Fret. Psalm 37 reinforces this truth, especially in the first 8 verses where David repeats the refrain: Fret not yourselves.

"If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me". This well known verse speaks to the cost of following Jesus. What we find is that to follow Jesus demands that one turn against themselves, their reasoning, desire, understanding and freedom and daily live in radical submission to the sovereign rule of Jesus Christ in every area of their life.

As a sheep in the flock of Jesus Christ, our relationship with the Shepherd is actually pretty simple. We hear His voice and we follow Him. It's not enough just to hear but there must be following as well. It's a simple thought, Hearing is demonstrated by Following.

What really drives us to follow Jesus? Love? Faithfulness? Reward? This morning we find that at the heart of following Jesus is the profound truth that we are intimately known by Him who calls us to follow.

In all honesty, there are times I struggle to follow Jesus. Here are the four main issues that make it hard to follow and what to do about them. After all, Following isn't about us, it's all aboutJesus.

The Battle to follow is fought on the front line between what I want and what Jesus wants me to want.

The essential character quality of a believer in Jesus is not that of Leading, but Following.

At the very heart of who we are is just that...our heart. This morning our study will focus on the central importance of our heart condition and the need to monitor and maintain our heart.

Having worked through the Great Words of Salvation, the question to consider this morning is this...have we missed the point? The words are great but the main point of any study of the Scriptures is that we come to understand the wonder that is our God as revealed to us through Jesus Christ.

As a fitting conclusion to the great words of Salvation, we focus our attention on the undercurrent of all the flows in Scripture, the Grace of God. Grace is God's undeserved, unearned, freely given kindness and favor that starts, continues and finishes His work in those whom He has chosen for His purposes.

At the end of it all, God has made it abundantly clear to us that we will be glorified. This great word focuses on God's process of returning us to a 'better than original' reflector of all He is through the day by day work of the Spirit in us that will culminate in perfect completion. What a truth! What a destiny.

As Adopted children of God, we find that in our great Salvation, our Heavenly Father has also Sanctified us. This is God's act of setting us apart to Himself, through the power of Jesus' work on the cross and the Spirit's work in our lives as we grow into our God given identity.

Because God has sent into our hearts His Spirit, one of the great truths of our salvation is that we have been Adopted. Adoption is God's choice to make us family; relating intimately to us as His children, correcting us as a Father, and making us His heirs.

Scripture makes it clear that having heard truth and believed, we were sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise. To be sealed means that God has placed His permanent presences in us which confirms, secures and protects us as His possession while guaranteeing the completion of all His work in us as well as all His promises to us.

In this great story of God's power and control, Elijah defeats the Prophets of Baal as God displays Himself to be the only true God. This encouraging story reminds us not only of God's power, but also His faithful promise to stand with us when we stand for Him.

After Jesus paid the final sacrifice on the cross, there was no need to continue making animal sacrifices as a means to atone for our sins. But what about the altar itself? Altars were a place of memorial, encountering God, surrender, and many others. In "Altars: Close Encounters with God", Bobby Thomas shares with us how we can and should still honor the idea of altars in our lives today. There are some key points of evaluation we need to take in our lives including assessing if we are making true dedicated time to listen to God.

This central word of the Christian faith was one that Martin Luther wrestled with and eventually sparked the Protestant reformation, to be Justified by God. This morning we study this word and find that it focus' on God's judicial act of declaring righteous those who have been united with Christ through faith.
