God invites us to have confidence in our faith, as long as that confidence is built on biblical truth. Such confidence leads to good communication with God.

Those who receive the testimony of God concerning his Son have the Son and eternal life found in him; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have eternal life.

The world holds no power over those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Faith is our great victory realized in and through Christ.

God's love is perfect. God's love is radically displayed at the cross. We must apply God's perfect love to our daily lives.

As Christians we enjoy grace upon grace throughout our lives. But we are given an even greater imperative by Peter in his letter to fix our hope on the grace that is to come; this is a promise to all who believe no matter what happens in this life.

A discerning ear enlightened by the Holy Spirit in the Christfollower can tell the difference between true and false teaching. Christ -centered teaching and preaching is profoundly different than the false prophesy of man-centered teaching.

God works. And as we are his image-bearers, the work that we do is a gift intended for purpose and meaning. We are to delight in our work, do it well, and make disciples as we go.

Belief in the name of Jesus, acted out in love toward others, gives us both hope and assurance, even when our hearts question.

Jesus Christ loves us, and he proved it. We in turn must love our brothers and sisters in Christ (without excluding those in the world). We do so not just in words, but in actions.

Christians are marked by a life of repentance and hatred of sin. They are not perfect, but they do not look at ongoing sin nonchalantly. Jesus came to destroy the devil’s work—how can Christians abide in that which Christ came to destroy?

God’s love for those in Christ is so great and magnificent that is surpasses knowledge. Those who are not in Christ will not understand you. We are to seek purity in every area of life.

Confidence at the return of Christ demands abiding in Christ. God is righteous; so are those who are called by his name.

If the truth to which you responded in the beginning remains in you, you will have the Father, Son and Spirit. Heresy (denying Jesus is the Christ) is a lie; orthodoxy is true. Only one leads to eternal life.

Those who claim to walk by the truth but walk away from it demonstrate that they were never transformed by it. The fact that all of this happens demonstrates that we are in the last hour of this world.

To love life in this world is to be at odds with God. Life is a gift, but it is not the greatest gift. Life in Christ is the greatest life of all, and everything should be given away in exchange for it.

When we know that we know Christ, we may speak confidently of our faith. Our sins are forgiven, we know God through Christ, his word dwells in us, and Satan is overcome.
