Housing inventory levels continue to drop. In fact, in February, they were back down to 970,000. That's not a lot of housing available for a country with 330 million people. And, as interest rates drop, the number of people who can afford to buy a home increases by the millions.  What does this mean? I take it to mean that we are experiencing a lull in home purchasing. The majority of single-family rentals, and they are currently about 23 million of them, are owned by small investors, mom and pops. Wall Street landlords, who still get a lot of flack, own only about 350,000 units, or 1.5% according to the National Rental Home Council. But they are looking to invest billions of dollars more.
