Recent economic research suggests tens of millions of jobs will be eliminated due to robots and automation, artificial intelligence and the like. Does this mean that the workplace will be a battleground between humans and the machines threatening their way of life? Not likely. Although there will be some workers affected more harshly than others, I believe the prevailing future will be a type of collaborative intelligence between humans and machines. Alexa has been a silent and virtual witness to several cases of crimes being committed at home. The trend has me wondering, today it is Alexa, but tomorrow…  What other electronic device could be called to testify (so to speak) in the future? Prasad Akella, CEO of the company Drishti - a developer of video-based human-employee tracking software that records the seconds it takes for workers to complete each step of their job. He said this, “The most programmable machine on the planet today is still the human.” Wow! Most people are concerned about robots taking their jobs away but maybe, just maybe, they should be monitoring how artificial intelligence is gradually programming people.

Robotic Surgeries are the future! And… they are the present. To be clear, robots are not operating on patients alone in operating rooms; at least not yet. What is happening is surgeons are operating in-person and remotely, on patients with the help of robotic arms. Some people this think is a wonderful development and other people are like... meh, whatever, and think the traditional methods of scalpels in hand is still best.
