In this episode, our hosts, independent fantasy artists Samuel Flegal and Peter Mohrbacher, are excited to welcome Christopher Burdett back on the show to talk about what he has been up to and how his new Kickstarter The Grand Bazaar of Ethra VanDalia is going.

For Kat's final mentorship episode our hosts are joined by the lovely Djamila Knopf: Djamila is a Leipzig-based independent artist who draws character portraits and tarot cards. She enjoys surreal and dreamlike imagery with a fragile and delicate quality to it. Her primary goal is to evoke a sense of wonder in the viewer and her drawing style is heavily influenced by both nature and Japanese animation. She mainly works digitally, but also has an ongoing series of small traditional drawings. Her work has been published by Dragonsteel Entertainment and in Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art, among others.

Encouraged to pursue a science career, she studied Cell Biology and Neuroscience in college before switching paths after graduation. Kat is primarily self-taught and has taken some evening classes and online classes over the past several years to learn about her craft. She is currently working on productivity challenges, sharing her art online, and discovering her personal voice.

Annabelle Lewis, who our hosts Sam Flegal and Peter Mohrbacher mentored in the spring, is back on the show to share with us how she has done since then. Annabelle recently raised $77000 on a Kickstarter for her gorgeous Oracle Deck. Annabelle is best known for weaving monochromatic palettes with gold leaf to illustrate a smorgasbord of interests: nature, history, mythology, and the occult. Each piece has a story to tell and is meant to pull the viewer into a mysterious world full of macabre creatures and beautiful - but fearsome - goddesses. She is based in Austin, TX, where you're most likely to find her chasing after snakes and lizards or foraging for interesting bones.

Today our fantasy artist hosts Peter Mohrbacher and Samuel Flegal are joined by the incredible illustrator Devin Elle Kurtz! Devin Elle Kurtz is a digital illustrator, visual development artist, and background painter working in Photoshop CC. Her focus is fantasy creatures and whimsical, colorful environments. She currently works full-time as a BG painter for Rough Draft Studios on the show Disenchantment and spends nights and weekends on her personal projects and independent business. She exhibits at 10+ conventions yearly.
