Sinopsis

This podcast is the perfect way to get back to that easy conversation flowing between friends over a cup of coffee; those conversations and interactions with friends that came so frequently and easily in college but the daily grind of "grown-up" life has drowned out. Let's be silly and yet purposeful as we chat about subjects such as relationships, crafting, health, and more with the intention of bringing God into everything. Whether its cooking, working, or decorating your living room, we believe God can be a part of it. Hosted by the Morrison sisters, you are invited to journey with us as we attempt to learn from Him in every part of daily life to be the women He created us to be; grounded in grace.

  • GiG049 Being Glad and Just Plain Thankful

    30/10/2017 Duración: 29min

It's not easy doing a podcast every week. It is a labor of love, but also, it involves time and money AND energy and mental strength. And the day we recorded this, we just didn't have that. It was a struggle... until a listener helped us out and suggested we practice what we preach and talk about things that make us happy.    So this episode is a little out of the ordinary, but we hope that by listening to what we are thankful for, you will be drawn to things that you are grateful for as well. And as you hear as we talk, doing this will lead naturally to just appreciating God.    In everything, give thanks! 1 Thessalonians 5:18

  • GiG047 Habits: Is talent that big a deal?

    16/10/2017 Duración: 29min

We spend a lot of time complaining or admiring people who are successful at something, giving them credit for using talent well. Studies show that while we admit that hard work and determination are what are really behind success, the reality is that we still subconsciously believe that talent is the key and if we don't have it, we can't achieve. This week we talk about talent, grit, and hardwork. The latter two being qualities of good habits. 25/09/2017 Duración: 33min

This week we interview 2 of our male listeners to hear what they think of some of the topics we have covered this month in our look at the Proverbs 31 woman.  A few of the things we talk about: What does the phrase "her husband's heart is safe with her" mean to you as a husband? What do guys really think when women dress like the Proverbs 7 woman does? How perfect do we need to be?! What is the best way to show honor to you? How can we use our influence to help you?   And...well, they say a lot more but you'll just have to listen and find out for yourself :)

  • GiG042 The Perfect Woman Pt. 2: Naughty and Nice

    14/09/2017 Duración: 28min

Today we study Proverbs 31 and comparing that with the description of the woman in Proverbs 7. Some questions that came out of our discussion include:   What are my intentions? What is influencing me and my actions in my marriage and in my home? Am I thinking selfishly? Am I seeking wisdom from God? Are my actions motivated by pleasing God and protecting those around me?

  • GiG041 Ikea favorites and The Perfect Woman Pt. 1

    04/09/2017 Duración: 31min

Just for fun and a little free Ikea advertising, Alyssa and I share our favorite and repeat purchases at Ikea.   Then, the meat of the episode. For the month of September we are choosing to dwell on the Proverbs 31 Woman poem that is written in, obviously, Proverbs 31.   Today we focus on verses 10-12. "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life."   Some questions that come out of our study that you can ponder for yourself: Are you trustworthy? Do you keep your word? Do you follow through? Do you keep confidences? Do you honor with your words? Are you consistent? with your attitude? habits?

  • GiG040 Change: When God Changes Your Plans

    28/08/2017 Duración: 28min

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” (Prov. 16:9)   We all make plans, whether as small as our to do list for the morning or as big as careers or having children. The hard thing for us is when those plans get thrown off course, especially when it seems like God is the one throwing them off.    So should we plan at all? Should we wait around for whatever God wants or should we make plans and have the potential for disappointment? And if we do make plans, how can we survive and even thrive when God makes changes?    These are the things Alyssa and I talk about this week on episode 40.   Shownotes: Quote: “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!” Text of study: “In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” (Prov. 16:9) Blog post referred to in episode: http://www.biblestudytools.com/blogs/the-good-book-blog/when-god-changes-our-plans.html

  • GiG037 Change: Relationships and Friendships

    07/08/2017 Duración: 26min

We decided that all the change in our lives, along with new school years and the soon coming change in seasons leads to our word for August, CHANGE.   We want to talk about how change affects us and our relationships, but also how we can deal with it, learn through it, and become better and stronger women (or men) of God.   This week we talk about how relationships change. A best friend in high school may be practically a stranger today, or a family member you couldn't stand has become your confidant and encourager.   Whatever the relationship might be, we talk about how to invest in them, choose wisely, and be grateful for all those awesome people who have come in and out of our lives!
