  • LHRL® #109- Gary Cail

    15/08/2018

https://youtu.be/S8v0ouR2yzY Some of you might remember Gary Cail from Episode #55. Gary was once over 400lbs and could not make the 40minute drive home from work without pulling into his usual parking lots to take a nap. With over 100lbs lost, Gary's life is much different today. Six-weeks ago as Gary was leaving the gym he began to have heart pains. He immediately knew that he was having a heart attack. Because of the years of neglect that Gary had shown for his body, he was seeing some consequences. Being that Gary was in the hospital and about to have critical surgery, the many people who love him rallied around and decided to celebrate Gary while they could. His hospital room was always crammed full of people laughing, playing Fortnite, dealing cards, and pranking nurses (there was even a grown-man in an inflatable unicorn costume.) The doctors noted how instrumental Gary's fitness was in the success of his surgery as well as his recovery. On this episode, we get to look at things from Gary's perspec

  • LHRL® #106- Just The Hosts

    18/07/2018

https://youtu.be/d65ZdTwV_6g This week on the Lift Heavy Run Long® Podcast we did not have a guest. Some of my favorite shows are when it is just the four of us and we get to kind of relax and talk about what is going on with us and the LHRL® Community. It is nice to have a show where we get to interact with the audience a little bit and cut-up a little more than usual. I say this all the time, but podcasting is one of my favorite things in the world. I feel so blessed to have friends who are willing to make it a priority, a fun-loving wife that likes to play and kid, and a community that supports us and wants to be a part of the show. I really do love you guys and I appreciate you making my existence so much fun! Peace, Love, and all things Beef related, Beefcake

  • LHRL® #100- Matt Heidenreich

    06/06/2018

https://youtu.be/lv6GKgx7FAs Matt Heidenreich was your typical overweight out of shape corporate middle management schmuck. Standing at 5’5” his 205 lbs were not a flattering feature. At 35 years old he changed his diet and began his attempt at running in 2011. Having wrestled, raced motorcycles, ATVs, watercraft and dirt bikes his once active teens and 20s were a distant memory. Attending the school of self-learned mistakes and injuries he eventually moved up to longer and longer distances as time wore on. To date he has completed over 150 races of which 27 were marathons and over 20 ultras.   The journey to wellness has been a wild and fun adventure. Recently finding more balance in running, weight lifting and core strength building has had a much-needed positive impact to his path to being ‘fit’. Growing up barefoot on a farm in the Midwest he prefers anything outdoors and relishes in being one of a few Asian Rednecks embedded here in the deep south. On any given weekend you might find him in the woods

  • LHRL® #96 with a few of the ladies of OBCF

    09/05/2018

https://youtu.be/Spxmif_Hl0E This week Amanda gathered up a few of the ladies from Olive Branch CrossFit and had a discussion on everything from being a younger person trying CrossFit, walking into a gym with no athletic background, attempting a half-marathon with very little run training, and the benefits of experiencing the CrossFit Open. Karleigh Aldridge, Ashley Boyd, Laura Pinckley, Stacy Cail, Jenny Lovitt, and Amanda Horrell are a liability whenever they get together and putting them behind a microphone presents an entirely different challenge. Fortunately, they were able to hold it together and not get too outta hand. I hope you enjoy the show!
