For some reason it seems like great minds are often prone to great shortcomings. Some of the most creative artist from painters to musicians have often come with VERY HUGE PERSONAL ISSUES that make you question their greatness. In the music industry, we can argue that drugs are often the culprit in such cases. Talented people tend to get caught up in the wave that is the industry, only to realize the water is full of sharks and a tremendous undertow. I often meet very talented individuals that are some of the worse personalities you could ever meet. But then, exactly what does that have to do with their music and if it's good? More then ANY other field I can think of, MUSICIANS are allowed to just be plain bad people without recourse. If you are a FAN of an artist, you will tolerate some extreme behavior from that artist and excuse some bad behavior, because you love their music. Is this good? Who knows, I have never been the type to try and hold artist up to some "standard" like they are a politician or a me

I love technology. I have always been one of the people that wanted the latest gadget that came out, especially when it comes to music related gadgets. As a lover of music when they gave me the power as a consumer to pack all the music I like into a lil small rectangle that hold Gigabytes of music, that sealed the end of my relationship with FM radio. Now, they even gave me a way to pick music and topics on my own and broadcast it live for anyone with a phone or internet connection to hear. Of course...I dove in. Internet Radio is the fastest growing way people hear music in the world. From the bigboys in the Game like Pandora and iHeart, to the people on the come up like myself this new way of broadcasting is growing immensely. This is the future of music and broadcast. Although the internet is still a paid for service and considered a "luxury" more and more people have access to it. There is a digital war going on in hip hop. Battle lines have been drawn, and fought over. You win some and you loose some as they say, but to me if you are really tuned in to Indie Hip Hop artist you are ahead of the game. This is the thing: THE MUSIC YOU HEAR ON THE RADIO IS NOT CONTROLLED BY PEOPLE THAT HAVE A LOT IN COMMON WITH YOU. This is the sad reality to of it all. Keeping in mind one truth when it comes to music: WE ALIKE WHAT WE LIKE, BUT WE CAN BE PROGRAMMED TO LIKE WHAT THEY WANT US TO. Funny how us "highly intelligent" beings can at times be no different from a herd of cattle isn't it? So tonight I will give you some reasons that I think you would be better off listening to Indie Music then you will be listening to mainstream music.
