The last installment of this weeks MUSIC GRIND series is by far my favorite. It's all about the music on this show right here. I will play more music than ever before on the show tonight. To display the END RESULTS of a lot of hard work by artist that are on the grind ya dig. Making music is HARD WORK. Often times the end results, a COMPLETED MIXED AND MASTERED SONG took hours upon hours of dedication and work. Hours to make (and PERFECT) the track, hours to write and record, then a few more to mix it. Listen to it, let others hear it, and decide if it will fly. You dont just make a song and finish it in ONE DAY. If you are fortunate to have access to all of the tools needed to complete the WHOLE process you are in the MINORITY. So relationships are made between producer and artist. Then money is spent at the studio for recording and mixing and mastering. THEN all of the promotion and marketing starts. So this week I will continue with my MUSIC GRIND shows by focusing on what goes on BEHIND THE SCENES. Last Episode (158) we talked to a lot of artist to hear what it was like grinding it out from their point of view. On this show I will have C. Wakely (THE RECORD BREAKER) on the line and he will give some insight to what actually happens behind the scenes in this exciting but sometimes cut-throat music biz. We also will spin music form his artist "BURGA" and interview him about his burgeoning career. This show will hopefully let some of the casual music fans out here understand just how difficult it is to really make a name for yourself in this industry. Often times if you are not in this biz you don't understand the dedication it takes, and also you dont really know how GRIMY it can be! The big day of love. To some women it's a gauge of how much a dude likes or loves them. Most of the time if you don't get your SERIOUS girlfriend or WIFEY a gift on V-DAY it could turn out bad for ya. Well that's all good if yall are on that level. There is no such thing as "free sex". This argument has been posed over and over: If you can afford to cake someone, male or female, then are you really "paying for it"? I feel like we all pay for sex in some way shape or form when we are kicking it with someone. Even if you don't leave the money on the nightstand when you done, if you pay for every date, or if you help out with a bill, you might as well just give the person cash in hand. Getting an education is important, but lets face it, not as important as being cool! Well at least this is how it is for a large number of kids, and it was this way for most of us adults ya dig. Elementary was a cake walk...junior high things got complicated, and high school was an all out social experiment. For some it was great. Sometimes people can live life with blinders on. It may be a way to cope with a problem that they have no answer for, or it may be that they don't even know that a problem exist. I think we all have been a guilty of this at some point in our life. We just don't like to look at the ugly side of ourselves or someone we love. Instead we just Deny the Obvious, that we or that person is an alcoholic, abusive, has a gambling problem, or sometimes that they really don't love you. The internet it quickly becoming the place to meet new people. But I am not talking about just "hooking up" with someone of the opposite sex. I mean new friends, associates, business partners, collaborators, and more. The internet has mad people who never met in person somehow feel like they go way back since highschool! These type of relationships could never have happened if not for the invention of this genius and fairly new invention that has changed the way we get our news, pay our bills, and even how we MEET people. I often think how many of my people that I only know from online but have a great amount of respect for I would NOT know if it wasnt for the internet. You know people are easily offended. I can say one thing in a room full of people, lets say "I HATE F***in B****es they all make me sick" and there is a 90% chance that everyone in the room..at least most of them will be offended. One of my FB friends posed a question that made me do this topic. It said: "If you was a boss and I wanted a job, and all you had was my FB info would you hire me based on what you see on my wall?" First of all if you haven't heard more and more upper level employers are actually going to people social network sites and GOOGLE to find information about current and future employees. MOST websites like FB, Myspace, and Twitter are public domains and the info and words you post can be easily accessed, especially if you haven't had any tweaks to your privacy settings. So if all someone had to goo by was that info like the question is posed, you might not be giving an accurate assessment of yourself if you make up or post things that really don't depict the real you. So it's been quite a few shows since my last installment of K-100's own original sex barometer "THE FREAK-O-METER made its debut. Since then I have gained a lot more listeners and so as promised I am breaking out the scales of freakiness for another wild night of sex talk on K-100. Recently I saw a post that suggested that violence is not the answer to solve any problem. Well, actually it's the ONLY WAY to solve certain problems. The laws of this land vary from state to state. Some places you cant even POSSES a firearm without facing time. In some places riding around with a shotgun in your truck window is the standard. But VIOLENCE can cause a VIOLENT reaction. REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD. Thus another classic saying that has been used for as far back as people can remember, and in all of it's sinister sounding clarity, it's also true. Revenge is something that people can act out before they even know it. You know it can be a very big act of REVENGE like screwing your mans friend because he cheated, or as simple as not letting someone over in the next lane because they rode too close to you a few miles back. Everybody loves something so much that they are a FAN of it. The word FAN is short for FANATICAL meaning excessive enthusiasm for and intense devotion to a cause or idea. So when you say that you are a FAN of something, well basically you kinda might be overdoing it a bit. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with being a FAN of a sports team, or a musician (Especially a Fan OF BLIZM!) or even a product like a certain brand like being a FAN of APPLE products. So I have a variety of friends. Some rich, poor, black, white, male, female and we all have disagreed about SOMETHING. I have NEVER met someone that agrees with EVERYTHING I say, and I mean EVER! We can have a thousand things in common but there will be some point of contention between us eventually because we are all individuals. That's the beauty of life and people. Sometimes I can even agree to disagree with someone. I can acknowledge that a person has a point, but I can still say that I don't like that point. You get it? A person can be right about something in the grand scheme of things, but the way they present it, or even just because of the PERSON presenting the argument, you still don't give a damn and you say F**K them anyway. You know some people I just can't talk to. I mean it's like we can SPEAK ya dig, but actually engaging in a real conversation with certain people I know seems like more of a task. Now don't get the wrong idea, I'm not being arrogant here, but you really have to be on a certain level of intelligence in order to have a REAL conversation with ME. Today is the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. A national holiday to honor a man who did a great many things to improve race relations and conditions in the black community. I wasn't even born when his great crusade for equality was waged but today I reap the benefits of it and casually take it for granted like most of my peers. I have many causes that I feel should be marched over, but I don't do it. I still see injustice and unsettling things in our communitiy, but I still sit by in idle and just try to survive. I have my own little personal crusades, but long gone are the people who championed our causes and risked life and limb for the rights of people they don't know. We have a few local leaders, but we don't have a national face that is only a champion for causes that effect us.
