EPISODE 160 "MUSIC GRIND PT3: THE END RESULTS"
18/02/2011 Duración: 02h26minThe last installment of this weeks MUSIC GRIND series is by far my favorite. It's all about the music on this show right here. I will play more music than ever before on the show tonight. To display the END RESULTS of a lot of hard work by artist that are on the grind ya dig. Making music is HARD WORK. Often times the end results, a COMPLETED MIXED AND MASTERED SONG took hours upon hours of dedication and work. Hours to make (and PERFECT) the track, hours to write and record, then a few more to mix it. Listen to it, let others hear it, and decide if it will fly. You dont just make a song and finish it in ONE DAY. If you are fortunate to have access to all of the tools needed to complete the WHOLE process you are in the MINORITY. So relationships are made between producer and artist. Then money is spent at the studio for recording and mixing and mastering. THEN all of the promotion and marketing starts. I named this the END RESULTS but in reality, when it comes to the life of a song, it is really JUST THE BEGI

EPISODE 159 "MUSIC GRIND PT. 2: BEHIND THE SCENES"
17/02/2011 Duración: 02h01minSo this week I will continue with my MUSIC GRIND shows by focusing on what goes on BEHIND THE SCENES. Last Episode (158) we talked to a lot of artist to hear what it was like grinding it out from their point of view. On this show I will have C. Wakely (THE RECORD BREAKER) on the line and he will give some insight to what actually happens behind the scenes in this exciting but sometimes cut-throat music biz. We also will spin music form his artist "BURGA" and interview him about his burgeoning career. This show will hopefully let some of the casual music fans out here understand just how difficult it is to really make a name for yourself in this industry. Often times if you are not in this biz you don't understand the dedication it takes, and also you dont really know how GRIMY it can be! Its a dirty game sometimes, but the main point that a lot of people seem to forget is that it is a BUSINESS. Like any other BUSINESS you need capital, and a plan to make things happen. So I will ask the insiders about how the

EPISODE 158 "MUSIC GRIND: THE ARTIST POINT OF VIEW"
16/02/2011 Duración: 02h55minSO THIS WEEK I'M GOING TO BE PLAYING MUSIC AND TALKING WITH A FEW INDUSTRY FRIENDS ON K-100. WE SET THE WEEK OFF WITH EPISODE 157 ON V-DAY WITH THE BLOOD RAW INTERVIEW. AS AN ARTIST MYSELF I TAKE THESE TYPE OF SHOWS VERY PERSONAL BECAUSE UNLESS YOU ARE AN ARTIST OR VERY CLOSE TO ONE, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE TO REALLY BE ON YOUR GRIND IN THIS INDUSTRY. THE MUSIC BIZ HAS GONE THROUGH SOME OF THE MOST DRASTIC CHANGES OF ANY BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY IN THE PAST 20 YEARS. WITH THE ONSET OF THE INTERNET AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY THE WAY MUSIC IS HEARD, MARKETED AND SOLD IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FORM JUST A FEW YEARS AGO. BEING AN ARTIST AT ANY LEVEL WE HAVE HAD TO ADJUST. BUDGETS AT THE BIG LABELS ARE SHRINKING, WHILE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE LITTLE GUY IS GROWING. THE PLAYING FIELD IS STILL VERY MUCH UNEVEN, BUT AT LEAST NOW WITH THE INTERNET WE HAVE A FEW TOOLS TO GRAPPLE ON TO THE CLIFF WITH AND TRY TO CLIMB TO THE TOP OF THE GAME. SO I'M GOING TO GET A FEW ARTIST TO CALL IN AND TALK ABOUT WHAT IT IS LIKE BEING

EPISODE 157 "V- DAY AND THE BLOOD RAW INTERVIEW"
15/02/2011 Duración: 02h20minThe big day of love. To some women it's a gauge of how much a dude likes or loves them. Most of the time if you don't get your SERIOUS girlfriend or WIFEY a gift on V-DAY it could turn out bad for ya. Well that's all good if yall are on that level. The question is WHAT EXACTLY THE HELL IS THAT LEVEL? If you're just CUT BUDDIES, then a gift on V-DAY should be an unexpected plus at best. If you are serious or even married and you don't get a V-Day gift for ya lady, you better REALLY know that she does not want or care about getting anything. Just a bit of advice pimp. So we will clear up exactly WHO should be hyped about the big V-DAY. And as an added PLUS I will have my homie BLOODRAW on the line for a live interview. He will talk about his upcoming projects like "CHICK FLICK" and we will spin some of his music. He will also be choosing a winner live on the air for a contest he is having for some of his fans to be on the cover of his next project. So here are the questions for the show callers: 1) ARE YOU EXPE

EPISODE 156 "IT AINT TRICKING IF YA GOT IT"
11/02/2011 Duración: 02h59minThere is no such thing as "free sex". This argument has been posed over and over: If you can afford to cake someone, male or female, then are you really "paying for it"? I feel like we all pay for sex in some way shape or form when we are kicking it with someone. Even if you don't leave the money on the nightstand when you done, if you pay for every date, or if you help out with a bill, you might as well just give the person cash in hand. Its the same thing to me. But if you don't have financial issues, if whatever you spend on a date or give a person really wont make a difference in your day to day living, then is it really tricking off? You see first you have to understand the definition of a TRICK: it is someone who pays a HOE for a sexual favor. So by definition MOST women will argue that if a man give them some money or pay for all the dates, he aint a trick. He is just a "good guy" or something, simply because they don't consider themselves a HOE. This is the quintessential part of the term "it aint tri

EPISODE 155 "SCHOOL DAZE"
10/02/2011 Duración: 02h31minGetting an education is important, but lets face it, not as important as being cool! Well at least this is how it is for a large number of kids, and it was this way for most of us adults ya dig. Elementary was a cake walk...junior high things got complicated, and high school was an all out social experiment. For some it was great. If you were a jock, a cool kid, and attractive popular person high school was the best. If you were poor, uncool, geeky or a freak it wasn't. One of my favorite things about the new internet wave is seeing how people turned out in adulthood. Facebook let's you see how wrong or right you were about how you THOUGHT a person would turn out later in life. But SCHOOL DAZE for me, even the BAD ones are very nostalgic. I remember the laughs, the fights, the jokes, the girls, the fun. I had some great teachers and some straight assholes. I learned some things I use now and some things that I will never use that was useless. But as I look back on them I had more good times than bad. I wasn't

EPISODE 154 "DENYING THE OBVIOUS"
09/02/2011 Duración: 02h03minSometimes people can live life with blinders on. It may be a way to cope with a problem that they have no answer for, or it may be that they don't even know that a problem exist. I think we all have been a guilty of this at some point in our life. We just don't like to look at the ugly side of ourselves or someone we love. Instead we just Deny the Obvious, that we or that person is an alcoholic, abusive, has a gambling problem, or sometimes that they really don't love you. Sometimes the OBVIOUS TRUTH is so painful or difficult to face it's easier to Deny it. But the thing about that is it ALWAYS comes a point that you can't deny it anymore. This phenomenon isn't just closed to people, there are governments that practice this, mainly our own. We are in denial that this country is going in the tank , but it in fact is if we don't change a lot of things. American car companies denied the obvious when they thought that building sub par cars would somehow still outsell the Japanese. Denying the obvious is somethin

EPISODE 153 "NEVER MET EM' BUT I KNOW EM'"
08/02/2011 Duración: 02h01minThe internet it quickly becoming the place to meet new people. But I am not talking about just "hooking up" with someone of the opposite sex. I mean new friends, associates, business partners, collaborators, and more. The internet has mad people who never met in person somehow feel like they go way back since highschool! These type of relationships could never have happened if not for the invention of this genius and fairly new invention that has changed the way we get our news, pay our bills, and even how we MEET people. I often think how many of my people that I only know from online but have a great amount of respect for I would NOT know if it wasnt for the internet. Being in the music industry myself it is invaluable. But I know other people who met their BFF or even their SPOUSE online. It's the new way to meet and greet, the new way to network, the new way to promote a product and more. Thanks to the internet once again I have created some great music. So with that being said here goes the questions: HO

EPISODE 152 "POTTY MOUTH"
04/02/2011 Duración: 02h01minYou know people are easily offended. I can say one thing in a room full of people, lets say "I HATE F***in B****es they all make me sick" and there is a 90% chance that everyone in the room..at least most of them will be offended. Just because I used those two words. As I have stated numerous times on K-100 words are just words most often and peoples actions 9and reactions) give more power to them then they should have. But profanity is something that almost everyone I know and associate with besides a small few engage in. Even people who go to church can have a potty mouth. In fact I would say when you meet a person that doesnt use profanity most people think that it is odd. But I mean who made curse words bad anyway? Who says that those words are "foul"? Those words are not not full condemning statements to people. If I walk up to you and say F*** well then I haven offended, threatened, demeaned or harmed you in anyway. Yet and still if I walk up to a stranger and say that it's a good chance they will look

EPISODE 151 "ARE YOU WHAT YOU POST"
03/02/2011 Duración: 02h18minOne of my FB friends posed a question that made me do this topic. It said: "If you was a boss and I wanted a job, and all you had was my FB info would you hire me based on what you see on my wall?" First of all if you haven't heard more and more upper level employers are actually going to people social network sites and GOOGLE to find information about current and future employees. MOST websites like FB, Myspace, and Twitter are public domains and the info and words you post can be easily accessed, especially if you haven't had any tweaks to your privacy settings. So if all someone had to goo by was that info like the question is posed, you might not be giving an accurate assessment of yourself if you make up or post things that really don't depict the real you. Number one on this list is a fake photo...yes people still do that! Another may be a political view you have, or even a social view. If you always blast Republicans on your page and you future employer is one (which is very likely if they are rich and

EPISODE 150 "THE FREAK-O-METER PART 3"
02/02/2011 Duración: 03h00sSo it's been quite a few shows since my last installment of K-100's own original sex barometer "THE FREAK-O-METER made its debut. Since then I have gained a lot more listeners and so as promised I am breaking out the scales of freakiness for another wild night of sex talk on K-100. Yes I know you have been waiting to earn more lashes...or maybe you missed the first two Freak-O-meter shows, in any event its back! So the way this works is pretty simple ya dig...you call in and I ask you a series of questions and depending on what level of feakiness you are on then you will earn a lash (yes from a whip wit ya freaky ass) for every question you say yes too. The more lashes you get then the freakier you are and the higher you score is. This is not brain surgery people...either you are a freak or you only think you are one. Are maybe even worse you just suck in bed. Be that as it may, these lashes are very hard to earn ya dig, they don't come easy! I'm making it tougher to get a lash this go round, so you are reall

EPISODE 149 "A TIME TO KILL"
01/02/2011 Duración: 02h21minRecently I saw a post that suggested that violence is not the answer to solve any problem. Well, actually it's the ONLY WAY to solve certain problems. The laws of this land vary from state to state. Some places you cant even POSSES a firearm without facing time. In some places riding around with a shotgun in your truck window is the standard. But VIOLENCE can cause a VIOLENT reaction. Sometimes people pay the ultimate price. Remember the movie A TIME TO KILL with Sam Jackson, they dudes raped his lil girl so he gunned they ass down. BRAVO! See you will have some tree hugging sissy try and tell me that was wrong, that he should have let the courts handle it. NO WAY IN HELL! I would gladly loose my freedom for a few years to violently kill someone that did that to my lil girl. To me it's a no brainer, to me that is JUSTICE. Sometimes you have to take VIOLENT ACTION to protect you and your loved ones. Sometimes it isn't for self defense, sometimes you have to be VIOLENT and KILL PEOPLE to make things change for

EPISODE 148 "BEST SERVED COLD"
28/01/2011 Duración: 02h01minREVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD. Thus another classic saying that has been used for as far back as people can remember, and in all of it's sinister sounding clarity, it's also true. Revenge is something that people can act out before they even know it. You know it can be a very big act of REVENGE like screwing your mans friend because he cheated, or as simple as not letting someone over in the next lane because they rode too close to you a few miles back. Both of these are acts of REVENGE which is defined as: "To inflict punishment in return for injury or insult". So every time you didn't do that extra thing at work because your supervisor did some BS to you, that was REVENGE. Every time you didn't answer that person call because the last two times you called them, that was REVENGE. Now the saying that it is best served cold mean that REVENGE is felt and more gratifying to the person issuing it out when more time has passed between the original deed that made you want to enacte your REVENGE. Thus, if you d

EPISODE 147 "MY BROTHERS KEEPER"
27/01/2011 Duración: 02h06min"...am I my brothers keeper?" This quote from the bible, and movies like NEW JACK CITY has been asked plenty of times in the history of man. It is a quintessential question we ask ourselves as much as we ask 'how did we get here'. But throughout our history we have proven that over and over again, mankind doesn't feel like we are our brothers keeper. The way our fellow man has murdered and enslaved each other is a testament to that. I believe people for the most part don't feel like they are there brothers/sisters keeper unless they came from the same BLOOD. Of course even then it doesn't matter sometime. You have people who claim to be religious and use the bible as a guide on how to live, but still will not help a stranger in need, because they have their own issues. Human beings like to THINK we are at the top of the evolution chain, but really we aren't even CLOSE! We are NOT our brothers keeper. We do NOT care for one another unless we KNOW each other. There is no general understanding that we are our br

EPISODE 146 "SENSITIVE MEN: THEY DONT WANT YOU"
26/01/2011 Duración: 02h55minYou know I don't even think women know what the hell they want half of the time. So the other day I was talking to a group of women, and they was all complaining about men (AGAIN??)So one of them said "well I can stand a sensitive ass man". So then she proceeded to talk and not even 2 minutes later the SAME chic was complaining that her man she is with now don't understand that she is a woman with feelings and you have to "nurture our relationship"...um, WTF!? Didn't you just say you don't want a sensitive man, you want a "hard" dude right..so you can feel safe right? You want that THUG LOVE in the bed right? You want a man to take charge and lead right? Guess what, you cant have ya damn cake and eat it too. You see when it comes to us men we mostly are what we are ya dig. If you are a sensitive caring type, you probably aint got any THUG in you. If you do, then you probably really aint SENSITIVE. There is a name for SENSITIVE THUGS..they are called DOWN LOW BROTHAS! You can show a chic some love, but in orde

EPISODE 145 "KISSING COUSINS"
25/01/2011 Duración: 02h30minAs you know I get some of my topics from tweets and Facebook statuses if I think it will make an interesting topic. So today one of my FB friends posted that someone she knew told her that she was attracted to a male 3rd cousin, and does it make her a bad person if she is considering sleeping with him. The obvious answer is it makes you a HO and a bad person. But then it got me to thinking, you know I have some attractive cousins in my family. Although I would never sleep with one, I have caught myself looking at their ass like we aint even no kin to each other lol..(DONT JUDGE ME!) There are some lunatics that PURPOSELY marry their own kin, and that's why JERRY SPRINGER made millions. It is an ULTIMATE taboo to sleep with anyone in your family, but then again, if the BIBLE is correct we are all products of incest. We breed animals with their own bloodline but scoff at the thought of us doing it (well NOW we do..HUMAN HISTORY IS A MESS!) But when someone is a 4th or 5th cousin from another state we never met,

EPISODE 144 "THE FAN"
21/01/2011 Duración: 02h31minEverybody loves something so much that they are a FAN of it. The word FAN is short for FANATICAL meaning excessive enthusiasm for and intense devotion to a cause or idea. So when you say that you are a FAN of something, well basically you kinda might be overdoing it a bit. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with being a FAN of a sports team, or a musician (Especially a Fan OF BLIZM!) or even a product like a certain brand like being a FAN of APPLE products. But this is one of those time where I break down what we SAY is not what we MEAN. Because in the definition of the word, I'm not a FAN of ANYTHING. In fact, most people really just LIKE things that they think they are a FAN of. Of course, we have some people who are straight up LUNATICS and they are in fact "excessively enthusiastic" about a person or a thing. And these people make me sick. There is nothing worse than someone not knowing when liking something doesn't mean you have to be an all out FAN. Just like the movie with Wesley Snipes and Robe

EPISODE 143 "POINT TAKEN, BUT F__K YOU"
20/01/2011 Duración: 02h37minSo I have a variety of friends. Some rich, poor, black, white, male, female and we all have disagreed about SOMETHING. I have NEVER met someone that agrees with EVERYTHING I say, and I mean EVER! We can have a thousand things in common but there will be some point of contention between us eventually because we are all individuals. That's the beauty of life and people. Sometimes I can even agree to disagree with someone. I can acknowledge that a person has a point, but I can still say that I don't like that point. You get it? A person can be right about something in the grand scheme of things, but the way they present it, or even just because of the PERSON presenting the argument, you still don't give a damn and you say F**K them anyway. It's like when a SKIN head says things like "the blacks just wanna sit around and get welfare and milk the system"..well not ALL of us are like that, but there are ENOUGH of us like that where you can see what makes him come to that statement. But still F***K an damn SKINHEAD!

EPISODE 143 "KILL THEM WITH A CONVERSATION"
19/01/2011 Duración: 02h59minYou know some people I just can't talk to. I mean it's like we can SPEAK ya dig, but actually engaging in a real conversation with certain people I know seems like more of a task. Now don't get the wrong idea, I'm not being arrogant here, but you really have to be on a certain level of intelligence in order to have a REAL conversation with ME. That is because when I speak I like to really like a) KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT b) TALK TO PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, WHETHER WE AGREE OR NOT and c) HAVE GREAT DIALOGUE AND/OR DEBATE ABOUT WHATEVER THE TOPIC IS. Of course, the SUBJECT varies from person to person and what situation. But it doesn't matter if it's from co-worker to boss, male to female, black person to white, adult to child, a conversation can be the starting point of many things ranging from a FIGHT to a FRIENDSHIP. Words can be powerful, we have established that here and communication is key to ANY form of relationship. But when it comes down to a MALE and FEMALE , especial

EPISODE 142 "IN THE ABSENCE OF GREATNESS"
18/01/2011 Duración: 02h52minToday is the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. A national holiday to honor a man who did a great many things to improve race relations and conditions in the black community. I wasn't even born when his great crusade for equality was waged but today I reap the benefits of it and casually take it for granted like most of my peers. I have many causes that I feel should be marched over, but I don't do it. I still see injustice and unsettling things in our communitiy, but I still sit by in idle and just try to survive. I have my own little personal crusades, but long gone are the people who championed our causes and risked life and limb for the rights of people they don't know. We have a few local leaders, but we don't have a national face that is only a champion for causes that effect us. Barack Obama is the president of ALL Americans not just black Americans, per his own words. But we don't have a MLK in our generation, and sadly we more than likely never will. So here goes: Why don't we have leaders like MLK any
