  • 21: Wonder Women: Kristina Saffran

    05/04/2017 Duración: 31min

Another week, another Wonder Woman! This week, I'm chatting with Kristina Saffran, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of Project HEAL: Help to Eat, Accept and Live. Kristina's Dare has been in the works since the age of 15 when she co-founded Project HEAL while in treatment for anorexia. That year saw a successful fundraiser generate $10,000 for the education and treatment of those with anorexia and other eating disorders (which are terribly under-funded). These days, Kristina is pursuing this effort full-time and just wrapped up a Silicon Valley gala hosted by Ariana Huffington which brought in roughly a quarter of a million for eating disorders. Next month, Project HEAL comes to New York for an East Coast Gala. I highly recommend making an effort to attend or working with your employer to make a donation to this extremely deserving cause and this hell of a Dare. To interact with Project HEAL, head over to theprojectheal.org. They are also on social media: Facebook/Instagram @projectHEAL, and Twitter @the

  • 19: Wonder Women: Madeline Smith

    29/03/2017 Duración: 38min

Wonder Women is going strong! And this week I'm proud to be chatting with someone I knew well while considering my own Dare into performing arts which I ultimately leaned back from. This Wonder Woman in particular, Madeline Smith, did not back down from her dream of pursuing the spotlight. Today, she's got the distinguished honor of being the youngest-ever female to conduct in a Broadway orchestra pit as part of the team for "Waitress," a musical led by an all-female team headlined by lyrical wonder Sara Bareilles. Go and catch Waitress on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, 256 W. 47th Street in NYC. Tickets are available here. Thanks for tuning in! • 18: Presence

    27/03/2017 Duración: 15min

Have you ever felt that you're clicking on all cylinders? Whether it be in a meeting, in an audition, with friends, or otherwise, that feeling when everything flows is often correlated with genuine progress towards goals and success. Amy Cuddy (Twitter @amyjccuddy) has written a fantastic book called "Presence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges" which tackles how best to find this flow in everyday life and "in the moment," to adapt to situations and how, ultimately, how to keep yourself open to improvement and growth. So I'm here to talk about it and encourage you to pick it up! You can pick up Presence on Amazon here. Thanks for tuning in! If you like what you hear, subscribe and tell your friends about it. • 17: Wonder Women: Sara Hopkins

    22/03/2017 Duración: 28min

In our second installment of Wonder Women, I chat with one of the first people on social media I ever really followed consistently: Sara Hopkins. Once a budding news journalist, Sara made her Dare into the then-exploding world of Vine, where she amassed over 1 million followers in building her personal and professional brands. She's managed to garner nearly another half a million followers across her networks -- this is her story. To find Sara and her content, head over to Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat @sayhop. • 16: How Successful People Think

    20/03/2017 Duración: 08min

Another week, another book, and another minisode! This week I read How Successful People Think: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life by John C. Maxwell (Twitter @johncmaxwell). It's all about being thoughtful, reflective, and smart to grow. It's crucial insight for those considering or just having made a Dare; while the initial jump takes guts and the overcoming of fear, it's making yourself a success post-Dare that requires careful evaluation of what's working and what's not. After all, that's the only way to improve! Pick up How Successful People Think on Amazon here. Thanks for tuning in! Be sure to leave a rating and review on iTunes if you like what you hear. Wonder Women is here! To find myLINGO, head over to the App Store or Google Play, check out Facebook and Twitter @mylingoapp, and also mylingoapp.com. Thanks for tuning in to the first Wonder Women feature! • 14: Wonder Women: A Series (Working Title)

    13/03/2017 Duración: 03min

Over the past few months I've been compiling a great new series for the show which focuses on incredible females and their journeys to Dare in their fields of interest: business, entertainment, social media, etc. It's launching this Wednesday, so I thought to devote today's minisode to it! • 12: Blink

    06/03/2017 Duración: 10min

This is To Dare is Human! I just finished reading Malcolm Gladwell's "Blink" and believe there's great applicability towards one's propensity to either go after or back away from a Dare. Determining the situations in which either an instinctive pull towards a decision or an analytical, meticulous approach towards one is superior is crucial, and an element of our psychology which Gladwell tackles in this book. It's fantastic reading, especially for someone traditionally more analytical who is considering that leap of faith, or someone more impulsive who is making heavier life choices. Thanks for tuning in! • 10: How to Get a Meeting with Anyone

    27/02/2017 Duración: 07min

This is To Dare is Human! Today I'll be discussing a book I've started reading and really enjoy, "How to Get a Meeting with Anyone" by Stu Heinecke. No matter the pursuit, gaining knowledge and connecting with mentors, partners, potential customers etc. is not only crucial in this day and age to get ahead but also increasingly difficult. This book expands on some of the more creative methods of outreach which have connected Stu and others with all the above. You can find it on Amazon or at your local library. Thanks for tuning in!
